It has been agreed during a meeting of Annapolis Valley Vintners, and subsequently ratified by Amateur Winemakers of Nova Scotia, that a special class will be offered during the AWNS Provincial Competition, for amateur wines produced in accordance with the standards for the production of “Tidal Bay” wines that were recently adopted by the Winery Association of Nova Scotia. The class will be known as “Tidal Bay Style”. Click on the link or go to the Competition page for details.
The 2013 AWNS Competition will take place on 25th May 2013 at the home of Ivan and Ilze Herbert, with the customary awards BBQ on Sunday 26th May. Deadline for entries is 18th May.
The annual vineyard tour on 13th June will be at Domaine de Grand Pre instead of the previously anticipated visit to Benjamin Bridge. The tour will begin at 6:30pm at the Winery and will be hosted by Hanspeter and Jurg. This event should give members a chance to keep abreast of new developments at one of our top wineries. As usual please bring finger foods to enjoy after the tour.
